Alex's Bio & Tutoring Experience

In almost all my jobs so far, I have worked with kids. Apart from looking after my little brother and sister, I helped coach my little sister´s softball team for 2 years, I´ve babysat since I was 14, and I work as a camp counselor during the summers. All these opportunities have taught me creativity, understanding, patience, as well as discipline skills. In New Orleans, I tutor at the NFL Yet Boys & Girls Club so I am familiar with needs of New Orleans´ children. Volunteering there has helped me with my academic and tutoring skills. It can be a hectic place where we can work with up to 4 or 5 kids at a time, all the while trying to handle the mayhem. I have a lot of experience when it comes to kids and I love that I´ve been so lucky to work with so many over the years. I think my experience and my love for children helps me stand out, as well as the level of responsibility and patience I can bring to each kid who needs my help.

I attended a public elementary school and later a college preparatory high school in Pasadena, CA. I am now a current junior at Tulane University pursuing a double major in Psychology and Gender & Sexuality Studies as well as a minor in Spanish. I´ve spent the past 6 months studying abroad in Buenos Aires.
