Alexander's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I have worked for three years at the Learning Resource Center at UMass. Here I provided aid to students both one-on-one and group sessions. I have tutored a wide variety of courses ranging from German to Organic Chemistry. This experience has provided me with valuable interpersonal skills.

As a patient and understanding individual, I see the potential in every student. Tailoring my teaching strategies to the student I am working with is a must. I have learned the skills necessary to engage students while making the material as easy to understand as possible. Tutoring is not only a learning experience for the student, it is learning experience for me as well that is incredibly rewarding. I strive to produce some smiles and laughs during the tutoring session, and to see the student expressing happiness after discovering they can do the work on their own. One must enjoy themselves and what they are doing to reach their potential.
