Alexander's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I am a recent graduate with a fascination in pedagogy and a strong desire to foster the development of new generations of intellectuals and scientists. I am currently working as a substitute teacher and want to expand the amount of time and the environment I have at my disposal outside of what is normally possible in a traditional classroom.

As a tutor, I am in a position to more easily implement active learning strategies that can help students learn to recognize and synthesize overarching trends in their subject material and recognize patterns in their own learning and studying habits, improving their ability to succeed across subjects and into the future. Additionally, higher-order synthesis and the internal generation of answers to conceptual problems can build students' academic confidence and, hopefully, nurture a genuine interest in learning and school.
