Amanda's Bio & Tutoring Experience

While attending high school, I participated in a math and science partnership which allowed me to contribute to high school biology lesson plans, develop learning exercises and tutor students in biology. In university, I tutored students in introductory geology courses (my major) and did work study as a lab teaching assistant for both geology and biology courses for two years. In graduate school, I taught environmental lab lectures and prepared lessons for a classroom of approximately 24 students. These experiences introduced to me a diverse range of students and helped me develop the methodology that I use today. In teaching, I love to introduce various parts of subjects and allow the students to learn key fundamental aspects of the core lesson. This way, no one is overwhelmed in the process.
