Angela's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Hi!

My name is Angee and I am excited about helping students uncover their love for learning.

Education:

I attend Liberty University. I will have my degree in Educational Psychology at the beginning of May 2015. I have taken many classes which allow me to use educational theories in my tutoring.

Work experience:

I started tutoring in 2009 when I tutored students at my college who were at risk for academic probation. In 2011, I spent a year tutoring a child I was a nanny for so he could enter kindergarten on time. In 2012, I started tutoring professionally for an online tutoring company which led to my face to face tutoring in 2013. In my spare time, I like working on making resources for homeschooling.

I have extensive experience with special needs. This includes being a nanny, tutor and home health aid. I also have experience with IEP's. I very much enjoy these children and am eager to work hard for them. They are often labeled, but I believe they just have a different way of looking at the world.

Teaching Style:

I use many techniques to teach. I first teach according to learning style. This has been EXTREMELY beneficial in my experience and I have seen great results. I also use many aspects of the Cognitive learning theory which states that children learn best when they are motivated to learn. By doing this, children don't just memorize facts. Learning becomes an experience.
