Brittany's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I firmly believe that every child is entitled to an enriching and fair education. While I consider myself an educator I am also a learner who is eager and willing to learn from my students and peers. My experience with education and children makes me a strong candidate because I have worked with various types of students, and all types of learners. I have worked as a tutor for all different ages and subjects for about six years now. As an educator I have learned that all students can benefit from further instruction. I have worked with many students who were considered at risk or under-performing as well as students who were advanced well beyond their grades. Working with these students I realized that under-performing students feel as if they are failures and often do not want to participate. Advanced students also have a fear of getting answers wrong because everyone expects them to be right all the time. All students are capable of learning and doing well. Many schools have resorted to teaching for the sake of passing a test due to the extreme stress and pressures of standardized testing. It is about time we teach for the sake of learning and create students who are willing and eager to learn.
