Charisma's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Hi. :) I love working with kids and have a heart for helping them discover a passion for English and writing. I have tutored kids that when I first started, hated English and writing by the time I was finished they had learned to enjoy writing and continued to write even after I had left. Their parents noticed a difference in their children's spelling, grammar and creativity in their writing.
I have tutored in both one-on-one and group sessions. I like to see what each child's strengths and weaknesses are in writing and English and go step by step to help the child improve their skills. One way I do this is to guide them as they write by suggesting changes and gently correcting spelling and grammar. I work with kids using their current English and writing curriculums, but am willing to suggest alternative curriculums if the parent's would like me to.

I am a 4.0 Honors student currently pursuing a degree in English and Creative Writing, at Yavapai Community College. I am almost finished with my associates of arts. I graduated high school at 15 years old, after being homeschooled most of my life. As soon as I took my first college English class, I knew English was my passion in life.
