Chen's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Since a second grader, I've always been inspired to lead others in the academics. My teachers in rural Fuzhou, China appointed me class president and handed me the privilege to grade other students' papers. School was difficult for me when I immigrated to the United States as a third grader but fortunately great teachers reached out to me personally in the states of Minnesota and Iowa. I was encouraged to tutor in High School. By college graduation when the opportunity of teaching students from disadvantaged background presented itself through Teach For America, I knew it was the right step. I am currently still involved in education through training teachers and private tutoring. I have taught subjects ranging from visual communication, SAT, writing, math to just about anything. I look forward to helping more students reach their full potential.
