Corinthia's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Hello! I'm Corinthia, I'm currently an undergraduate student studying Linguistics. I have tutored mainly middle school students, but I have also done volunteer tutoring in Japan for foreigners living in Japan who want to learn Japanese. I have an Associates in English, so my strongest subjects are English, reading, grammar, writing (creative, expository, persuasive, argumentative, technical, non-fiction, and poetry), literary devices, and vocabulary. I can also tutor beginning to intermediate level Japanese, and beginning Korean. I'm very familiar with MLA formatting and most formats for expository writing.

My long-term goal is to teach high school Japanese, or to teach English in Japan or Korea. Writing, languages and teaching are what I am most passionate about.

I have worked with kids from all skill levels and walks of life, and I have endless patience and enthusiasm. Let's make progress together!

I graduated from Sheldon High in 2013, and I participated in the International High School program. I completed International Baccalaureate courses for History of the Americas, Literature of the Americas, Comparative Political and Economic Systems, Theory of Knowledge, 20th Century Global History, 20th Century Global Literature, as well as Standard Level IB Japanese. I earned IB certificates in Higher Level English Literature, Standard Level Economics, and Standard Level Japanese.

I studied English at Lane Community College, and will be beginning at the University of Oregon in Fall 2015 in the Linguistics department.
