Daveen's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I have a passion for helping and educating others. I currently work at an adult education center, Education Matters. I have experience teaching/tutoring Math, English, Science and Social Studies for the GED (high school equivalency). My strengths with students lie in my patience and calm demeanor. In my spare time I like to play video games and board games and would love to incorporate these if they can aid the student's learning style or make the lesson more engaging.

I graduated cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's in Psychology and a minor in German Studies. I focused in the areas of Social Psychology and Cognition because I like to understand how people think. I worked as a teaching assistant and as part of the educational outreach team for UC's Women's Center. With my experience at UC, I will be able to quickly take note of and adapt to the student's way of thinking/learning and assess how to best engage him/her in his/her studies.
