Elizabeth's Bio & Tutoring Experience
My tutoring experiences began while I was in college. I volunteered in a boys' home helping the residents complete homework and better understand the material being taught in class. I was able to help students identify and overcome their academic weaknesses. It was a very rewarding experience seeing these students, who had always struggled in the classroom, finally find some success. From there, I continued my teaching career working with both struggling and excelling students to better their writing skills. I have also tutored high school students during the school year, not only providing homework help, but academic instruction as well. I was able to present the material in new and different ways that met their specific learning needs. Being a trained teacher, I am able to use various tutoring methods, whichever is appropriate for each individual student, to help them better understand the academic content.
