Erin's Bio & Tutoring Experience
I have an extensive background in teaching. I worked for three years as an educator at the New England Aquarium, where I taught visitors of all ages about the marine life we have on display. I interacted with visitors of all ages but focused mostly on the education of high school students in small groups. Additionally, this summer I worked as a teaching assistant for the Duke TIP intensive summer program, which aims to stimulate gifted students in a classroom environment different from that of a traditional classroom. I prepared lectures, led discussions and hans-on activities, and tutored my students individually on the material. One thing that makes me stand out is that I am a Jeopardy champion - I won the 2010 College Championship - and I have a large knowledge base encompassing many different subjects.
