Heather's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor since 2010. I have worked one on one with students ranging in ages from 5-15 years old in private tutoring sessions. My sessions have included working with students on their daily homework, research projects, literacy skills, handwriting skills, reading levels, multiplication sets, and much more.

I have also been a full time certified elementary teacher for the past 4 years, with two years in Kindergarten and two years in First grade. I currently hold a professional teaching certificate in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania, and am in pursuit of my California certification. In addition I have my middle school mathematics certification which allows me to provide you with a more extensive knowledge base for the middle school student. I worked with a high ESL population in a Title 1 School and worked daily with ESL and Special Education teachers.

I believe that every child is entitled to only the very best education. My goal is to motivate children to the best of their ability, allowing them to achieve their goals, and make continuous progress that will allow them to succeed in their life. I aim to make learning fun, and provide a safe and enriching environment that fosters each child’s confidence to help them reach their full potential. I will take the responsibilities of an educator very seriously and will work hard to develop a mutual trust and respect from the children, parents, teachers, and administration I interact with.
