India's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I bring a Bachelor's in Arts & Sciences. I majored in Sociology and minored in Journalism. I am proficient in the subjects English and Language Arts. I bring experience in teaching an ESL Adult class of students at the intermediate level through the Cross Roads ESL program. I assist the students with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and assist the students with speaking/word usage. I also bring experience in tutoring youth ages five to eighteen with study methods, essay structure and writing techniques, vocabulary, and reading comprehension/verbalization. I have worked with children with various learning disabilities/disorders such as autism, ADD, Down Syndrome, and Dyslexia in a number of educational youth programs. As an Assistant Director of Youth Services at the NYS Museum, I have been able to help youth with learning disabilities to improve their learning retention and comprehension. I also bring experience teaching youth with behavioral/emotional disorders at St. Anne Institute.A few other organizations that have allowed me to assist youth with their academic endeavors are AWANA, Girls Inc, and UALbany's R.A.C.E (Reclassifying All Children Equally). I am very patient and would enjoy helping a child or ESL student with any additional English/Language arts assignment questions and/or concerns.
