James's Bio & Tutoring Experience
I am a civil engineering student pursuing me degree at the University of Nebraska, I have been a lead tutor at the Engineering Study Stop where I worked to help college students with their homework and questions. I also set up several study groups during the last few semesters that allowed me to both give and receive tutoring.
In high school, I was in a mentor position for a Lego robotics team that allowed me to help the students learn programming concepts and the basics of STEM fundamentals. I was also an algebra 1 tutor for a short while; I was able to help the student pass their final test.
I have learned that the most effective way to explain something is to find the way the person thinks and tailor the explanations to their learning style.
