Jessenia's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I am a recent college graduate and I have experience tutoring in various subjects from elementary to college level.

As a tutor I have managed to help students master course material, complete homework assignments, and achieve grades of A and B on exams and as the final class grade.

In the past, I have tutored high school students in Algebra 1 and 2 for Florida Virtual School (FLVS) courses and have individually tutored students in College Algebra and College Statistics as I have extensive knowledge in those subjects. I am also very knowledgeable in all subjects in Psychology including General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Research Methods, etc.

Furthermore, I am familiar with AP teaching methods as I took and passed AP Psychology and AP Spanish Language and Spanish Literature in High School.

I have also worked directly with children between the ages of 4 and 12 as an aftercare counselor for Silver Palms Elementary both tutoring and teaching various elementary school subjects.

As far as actual teaching experience, I volunteered for some time in college at EL SOL Resource Center in Jupiter, FL. as an English Language teaching assistant for native Spanish Speakers.

Over all, I consider myself an enthusiastic, dedicated, friendly, and patient individual with a passion for psychology, math, and teaching. My main focus as a tutor is to help students master the material in a way that will eventually give them the confidence and ability to complete assignments efficiently on their own.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Psychology from the Harriet Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University.
I attended Boca Raton Community High School and completed several Honors and Advanced Placement courses.
I was also part of the Gifted program at my elementary and junior high school, M.A. Milam K-8 Center in Hialeah, FL.
