Juliette's Bio & Tutoring Experience

For the past two summers I've served in China as an English teacher and tutor. Every morning I would teach a classroom of students ranging from middle to high school. My favorite topics to discuss were grammar and writing. My heart smiled watching week by week as each kid found joy in creating something unique and grammatically solid. On my last day in China this summer I couldn't believe that the confident and coherent students saying good bye to me were the same ones saying hello to me with English-Chinese dictionaries just a month before. When I'm not volunteering in China I'm an English Education undergraduate at the University of Arkansas. In May I will graduate and continue on to receive my Masters in the Art of Teaching. I also currently nanny and tutor a 6th grader every day after class. It's been so fun watching her learn to love subjects she's never enjoyed before, like reading and math. Also, it's just plain fun getting to hang out. Tutoring kids makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world and I can't wait to talk to you more about tutoring your own child!
