Katheryn's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Before going to college at UC Davis I was an excellent student and a teaching assistant in both of my AP history classes. This gave me experience in helping students with their coursework and evaluating common problems that students face. I went on to UC Davis and studied anthropology which gave me a background in both the sciences and the humanities and allowed me to delve into current research for examples to learn from. I tutored professionally in college at the student academic success center in archaeology, but my opportunities for tutoring did not stop there. I was often the go to student within the department for study groups especially for the difficult evolution and ecology series. During college and afterwards I have been tutoring my younger sister in Algebra 2, AP US history and AP psychology.

I graduated from Sultana High School in 2009 and went on to UC Davis as an anthropology student. I studied biology, calculus, ecology, and anthropology and graduated in 2013 with a bachelor of science. While in school I completed an honor's thesis that focused on the subsistence patterns of prehistoric arctic people. I am capable of tutoring in writing, ap english language and literature, ap us history, chemistry, biology, mathmatics up to algebra 2 and statistics.
