Lauren's Bio & Tutoring Experience
I am a recent graduate of Beloit College in Beloit, WI. I have experience as a reading tutor at elementary and middle school levels, including international work with English reading and writing in Tanzania. I am an environmental biology major, so I really enjoy tutoring in the natural sciences (I was also a chemistry tutor at Beloit College); however, I am very proficient in reading and writing, as well as verbal communication skills and thoroughly enjoy teaching and tutoring those subjects as well. As a former college student, I was sometimes in need of a tutor myself, which has also helped me determine which techniques I find most helpful in tutoring sessions (everyone's learning style is different, and I am very adaptable to each student's unique preferences), and what it takes to be an upstanding tutor and provide a positive and productive experience.
