Michael's Bio & Tutoring Experience
For the past thirteen years I have been employed as an instructor at either the community college or university level. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of college level and developmental mathematics classes to a very diverse population of students. I have experience teaching traditional students, non-traditional students, PSEO students, international students and even students with learning disabilities.
I started teaching in 2003 as a graduate teaching assistant at South Dakota State University, teaching two courses a semester while pursuing my Masters of Science degree in Mathematics. After graduating in 2004, I moved to Oregon and was employed as an adjunct instructor for Linn-Benton Community College, Lane Community College and Chemeketa Community College, teaching both college level and developmental mathematics courses. Two years later, I accepted a position at Minnesota State University, Mankato as a fixed term instructor. During my four years at Minnesota State University, Mankato teaching college level mathematics courses, I was also employed as an adjunct instructor for Rasmussen College and South Central College. When my contract was up at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2010 I accepted a position at South Central College as a full time instructor. At South Central College, I taught both college level and developmental mathematics courses. I also developed and taught an online College Algebra course. Currently I am employed by Minnesota State University, Mankato teaching college level mathematics courses.
