Mike's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I am an undergraduate student studying Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and I currently hold a cumulative GPA of 3.65.

I have a great programming background with several different languages including PHP, Java, Javascript, HTML, and C++, not only in the classroom, but I have had a few internship opportunities as well that have brought great practical use to my knowledge. As goes along with Computer Science, I am also proficient in anything up to Calculus 1. All that being said, however, I am a jack of all trades. I know a good deal about things ranging from economics and politics to music and sports. I was the worship leader at my church for over a year, and I helped students learn to play their instruments proficiently and practically in a band setting as well as an individual setting. I have also helped with vocals, including harmonies, melodies, runs, etc. I can teach Acoustic or Electric guitar, bass, piano, and vocals.

I was also the head baseball coach of the Brighton High School C squad for the 2012-2013 season. I had to have the ability to adapt quickly to any circumstance thrown at me, and I delivered every time. I gave my 100% to the kids, and they gave me theirs back. I know how to work hard for my students and establish a trust-based relationship in which they want to succeed, and they trust me to help them get there. I like to keep things very light-hearted, but also professional and educational so the student has room to learn and grow. My main goal is for my students to learn a lot from me, and enjoy coming back every time!
