Misty's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I am a certified math teacher with 14 years' experience. Two years of that experience was working as a high school math specialist focusing on at-risk students in Algebra 1. I have a bachelor's in mathematics, but also have experience with statistics, chemistry, physics, and engineering. I have extensive teaching experience including algebra, geometry, and statistics, including AP Statistics. I am also National Board certified in math, which is an elite accommodation given to highly qualified teachers.

I believe that everyone can learn. I also believe that learning should be fun, and I try to include humor in my teaching. Although I have focused on teaching in the classroom during the previous decade, I have also done a great deal of tutoring individuals with a tremendous success. I am not only able to teach the subject matter, but also help with test-taking skills and strategies.
