Nancy's Bio & Tutoring Experience

Hello. I am a retired certified teacher, and most of my tutoring has been through my school districts. I have spent years tutoring students in my content area or other areas. Students have come to my classroom before and after school, and sometimes, the really smart ones, would figure out how to get out of a class to come to me during my planning time for help. My tutoring was not part of the ESS afterschool program, but this was time I gave to my students to make sure they were performing at their best. I have found that students in middle and high school need so much attention in every area of their lives. Some parents think this age student should be more independent, but they need as much or more attention as small children. Therefore, I build a rapport with my students so they know I care about them as individuals. They know I want them to be successful so they always seek me out. I am not a push over. My students must perform if they are using my time which is precious. If they goof off or don't work I end the session.

I have my B.A. in English and Spanish. I have my M,A. in education. I have an endorsement in Gifted and Talented. I also have my law degree so I have the education and knowledge to help a large number of students. I love to teach reading, language arts and writing, literature. I can teach the LSAT and ACT.
