Nikita's Bio & Tutoring Experience
I hope that my strong academic and leadership record throughout college and high school says much about my ability to perform tutoring with skill. At Sciences Po (a French university I attended for my first two years of undergraduate school), I was a leader in three different student associations and was named cum laude (top 10% of the class), while in high school, I was named valedictorian and took twelve Advanced Placement classes. My strongest subjects for tutoring are English and the humanities (including for SAT and ACT prep), although I do have some experience in math as well, having taken up to Calculus III and having received a 5 on the AP BC Calculus exam in high school. I particularly pride myself with English writing and skills. I received a $16,000 scholarship from Lousiville Magazine’s Renau Foundation for winning first place in a fiction competition, while my 2012 essay on biodiversity received first place in the statewide Jim Claypool Conservation Writing Contest by the Kentucky Division of Conservation. In high school, I received national, state, and regional awards from Future Business Leaders of America in the event “Business Communications” (which tested for a comprehensive understanding of grammar, punctuation, and communication skills), as well as perfect scores both AP English exams and on my SAT reading and writing sections. I thus would be able to help students improve their English skills, learn grammatical construction, and compose essays if need be. I also feel confident that I would be able to help with SAT, ACT, and AP test prep, having received a 5 in 10 AP tests, a 2350 on the SAT, and a 34 on the ACT (with a 36 and 35 respectively in English and Reading). In addition to English, I am able to speak proficient French and thus can teach beginner’s French to students as well. Although I have never professional tutored, I have done quite a lot of informal teaching work with my friends and colleagues and am eager to help you in any way that I can!

Nikita's Education & Certifications
I am a rising junior in the undergraduate Dual BA Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po. I spent my first two years of college in Reims, France, where I was fortunate enough to learn French, travel extensively, and learn the social science subjects such as Political Science, Sociology, International Relations, and more. My interests are environmental studies and climate change research, as well as all things writing and English. At Sciences Po, I studied the social sciences, with an emphasis on law and political science. When I begin my studies at Columbia in August 2014, I plan to major in Human Rights and minor in Psychology.
