Priya's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I began tutoring when I taught my niece addition. Since then, I've learned that the best tutor is one who guides their students towards understanding the concepts behind what they are doing instead of pure memorization. It is important to perform well, but it is also important to understand before courses become harder, especially in math and science. Without a solid foundation, more conceptual exams in college and beyond become near impossible to grasp. I love being both a tutor and mentor for my students. I believe in customizing every lesson to be unique for my students in a way that will serve their individual needs. I also find it important to give my students problem solving skills as the biggest asset one can have is being able to learn independently. My lessons are intended to be fun and influential which is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good work ethic.

While not tutoring for LogonTutor, I volunteer as a Tutor through New York Cares, an organization that helps elementary, middle school and high schools students from under privileged families get needed academic prep.
