Rebecca 's Bio & Tutoring Experience
I'm currently enrolled at Tidewater Community College earning my A.S. in Sciences which will aid me in my overall pursuit of a BA in Science and Elementary Education.
I am also a math and reading assistant for my local Kumon learning center.
My main goal as a tutor is to engage my students, I want them to learn to figure out problems on their own rather than me doing all of the talking and giving answers. I help them to be critical readers, and thinkers and aid them with problem solving tools.
Most importantly I allow the student to have control of the process, I'm a strong advocate of and encourage independent learning and help the student gain confidence in their own ability. The more independent they become, the more self sufficient they become.
