I have done unofficial tutoring in the past for friends and acquaintances. Depending on the subject material and the student I may change my tutoring methods, however I do like to assign independent assignments that the student can do on their own and then we can go over together over our next tutoring session. If I am tutoring Japanese (or any language) I prefer to meet at least 3 times a week so that the student is exposed to a sort of immersion effect.
