Whitney's Bio & Tutoring Experience

I graduated with honors from Whitefield Theological Seminary and have 10 years of private tutoring experience under my belt. I absolutely love learning, teaching, and watching the reflective glint of understanding in my pupils' eyes. I am very non-intimidating, but firm.

I have experience in all of the subjects listed, and specialize particularly in writing---simple sentences, basic grammar, paragraphs, five-point essays, and research papers.

I believe that education is a tool, beginning with the fear of the Lord and working out to His glory. I am a passionate Christian and teacher with experience in writing curricula as well as one-on-one tutelage and collective classrooms.

I illustrated and wrote for a newspaper for nearly three years and have produced illustrations for published books. I love everything about learning and teaching---right down to the type and pictures in books :). I prefer the use of online teaching as it allows for more versatility in tutelage and saves everyone the trouble of gas finances and undue trouble :).

I have had the privilege of privately tutoring pre-Algebra and Algebra for 5 years and like to in all things begin with a solid foundation, working outward---NEVER moving on nonsensically before the basics are well-grounded. This best fits the pupil for a confident and able mindset.

I have privately tutored for a total of ten years, working with varying ages and stages of understanding. I have seen students flourish from an obscure understanding of simple sentences to a firm grasp of essays.

I graduated from Whitefield College with honors and have a tutoring experience of 10 plus years in tutoring (both online and in-person) subjects including Elementary and Middle School math, science, history, writing, literature, Bible studies, and grammar. I have also privately and collectively taught high school literature (to a college-level), grammar, Algebra 1 and 2.

In addition, I am an approved tutor via Wyzant Tutoring.
